Hi folks,
As you may know, we’ve been in the studio these last few weeks writing some new tracks and shortly we will say cheerio to Glasgow for a while when we set off to LA to record our next album.
There’s also been a flurry of online activity this week with the first shows of the year being announced. So far we can confirm that in July we’ll be playing on the 11th at Ruisrock Festival in Turku, Finland and a few days later on the 15th we’ll be appearing at Slottsfjell in Tønsberg, Norway.
Fuji Rock Festival is also confirmed for August 1st, and we’re itching to bring you news of our first UK show this year which you’ll hear about sometime next week.
We’ll be bringing you updates on Facebook, Twitter & Myspace as well as the Tours section of the website, so come and seek us out online and you’ll be the first to know what’s going on the calendar.
Bye for now,
B&S x

Belle and Sebastian/God Help The Girl news
A message from those lovely people at B&S HQ:
"Hi Folks,
Here's a quick note from b&s HQ to keep you up to date with the God Help The Girl releases.
Another download & 7" from the album will be released on 20th July. "Funny Little Frog" is a version of the 2006 Belle and Sebastian single, sung by Brittany Stallings and the b-side is non album track "Mary's Market". You can download both "Mary's Market" and "Funny Little Frog" for FREE from the GHTG Myspace so go have a listen today!
As you may know the album "God Help The Girl" is released on the 22nd June by Rough Trade in the UK and the following day by Matador in the USA & Canada. It features fourteen tracks including the singles "Come Monday Night" and "Funny Little Frog" and the initial CD copies in the UK will come in a lovely hardback booklet with lyrics, and an introductory story by Stuart. For all you LP lovers, a vinyl edition will be available which comes with a download code.
We will of course be stocking all formats in the b&s online shop but you will also find these at the usual retailers online and on the high street.
As well as the above, there is a God Help The Girl subscription package available now which in addition to all planned releases for the coming months, includes a 5 track 10" EP "Stills" which features non-album tracks. If this sounds like your cup of tea then visit the GHTG website.
Lastly, if you've been following the progress of the GHTG release you should check out Stuart's blog on the Guardian website which accompanies some great clips about the making of God Help The Girl by Marisa Privitera. Follow this link to THE GUARDIAN.
Thanks for your support!

Belle and Sebastian
A missive from B&S HQ:
"Hi folks,
In the month of February a certain fan of the band sent a rather sad photo of her beloved B&S Ampersand t-shirt from back in the day (which frankly had seen better days). Her plea was heard and they are now back in production and available from us here at Banchory (http://www.belleandsebastianshop.com).
We're also stocked up on 'Scotland's for me' t-shirts again and coming soon, some more classic designs from the archive...
Also, we'd like to invite you to visit the website for Stuart's God Help The Girl project where you can sign up to receive a free mp3 of 'Come Monday Night' the first single from the album. You can visit the site at http://www.godhelpthegirl.com
The single will be released on 7" vinyl on 11th May, preceding the album which is due for release on 22nd June.
Cheers for now!
